SurrealDB offers flexible options across fully managed cloud deployments, self-hosted environments, and enterprise support plans.

You can start for free, scale with usage-based Cloud pricing, or deploy on-premise with commercial enterprise features.

SurrealDB Cloud (fully managed)

SurrealDB Cloud is our managed database platform with usage-based pricing. Pricing is usage-based - you pay for the compute, storage, and resources you consume.

Free

Ideal for development and prototypes

Start (pay-as-you-go)

Usage-based pricing for production workloads requiring vertical scalability

Dedicated (custom pricing)

Single-tenant, horizontally scalable infrastructure for mission-critical systems

SurrealDB Cloud is available through AWS Marketplace. This enables streamlined procurement, consolidated AWS billing, and simplified vendor onboarding for organisations already operating within AWS environments.

Self-hosted deployments

Community Edition (free)

SurrealDB Community Edition includes all core open-source features and can be deployed on-premise or in your own cloud environment.

Licensed under the Business Source License (BSL) 1.1:

  • Free for non-commercial use

  • Commercial SaaS or cloud providers require a commercial license

  • After a defined period, the BSL transitions to an open-source license


Enterprise Edition (commercial)

SurrealDB Enterprise Edition is designed for organisations requiring advanced security, compliance, and enterprise-grade capabilities.

Enterprise Edition includes features such as:

  • Advanced security patching

  • Audit logging and compliance capabilities

  • FIPS-compliant cryptographic modules

  • Secure execution environments

  • Enterprise-grade storage and scalability options

Enterprise Edition requires a commercial agreement.


Paid Support Plans

SurrealDB offers paid support plans for Cloud and Enterprise customers, including:

  • Business hours support

  • 24×7 production support

  • Priority response SLAs

  • Dedicated Slack channels

  • Technical account management (Premium tier)
